Citizens Advice Stockport opens new call centre

Citizens Advice Stockport CAS has opened a new call centre offering over the phone advice on debt, benefits and other issues to Stockport residents.

The organisation’s chief executive claimed that the move will help meet the changing needs of Stockport residents and enable them to offer outreach support across the community.

CAS Chief Executive Steve Hughes said: “I am pleased that following our restructure and with the support of the council, we are able to invest £11,000 into the new contact centre. This is a great step forward in us meeting the changing demands of residents across Stockport.

“Over the year, we have seen an increase in the number of people wishing to access our services by phone and other digital methods. The investment in our new contact centre will allow us to better meet the growing demand.”

Traditionally, CAS has offered support and advice from three physical locations in Stockport, Cheadle and Marple.

In 2017, the support organisation altered its service structure to provide more outreach focused support across Stockport.

Enhanced telephone and digital services will be delivered alongside the face-to-face services in an attempt to help more people.

Citizens Advice is an excellent resource for people who are struggling with debt and other money issues.

They help customers understand things like credit and mortgages and offer support designed to help you deal with debt problems, avoid losing your home and get your finances back into shape.

For people struggling with more serious debt problems, a debt solution like an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) may be the answer.

IVAs can only be administered by a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

An IVA is a formal agreement between you and your creditors which allows you to make affordable payments over a period of around five or six years.

At the end of an IVA period, any remaining unsecured debt can be written off.

For more information about IVAs or other debt problems, speak to a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner today. Call: 0800 611 8888.
